In 2001, Sita Mazumder graduated summa cum laude from the Swiss Banking Institute of the University of Zurich. One year later, her dissertation titled “The Diligence of Swiss Banks in the Light of the Prevention and Fight against Corruption” was awarded the University of Zurich’s Annual Research Prize.
At first, Sita studied computer science and engineering at ETH Zurich and later switched to the University of Zurich. She graduated in 1999 with a master’s degree in economic studies.
Her academic path led her, inter alia, to New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business, Inholland University in the Netherlands, University of the Fraser Valley, and Capilano College in Vancouver, Canada. Her professional career encompasses, among others, the Swiss Banking Commission (today: FINMA), UBS AG, oprandi & partner, ABB, Bernet & Partner, and her former enterprise, Dr. Sita Mazumder Consulting.
In 2011, Sita Mazumder was invited to the US Department of State’s renowned International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) by Hillary Clinton. Currently, Sita is a professor for economics and IT at Hochschule Luzern. She serves as a lecturer at various institutions inside and outside of Switzerland and appears as a speaker and moderator on a regular basis.
Sita Mazumder also manages PURPLE Consult, her own consulting firm, and serves as a member of the managing boards at Hiltl AG and Client is AG, among others. She is also a member of ElCom, the Swiss Electricity Commission. Additionally, Mazumder is the author of numerous books and articles and writes op-ed columns regularly.
