Postponement of 2020 conference

It is with a sad heart that we must announce the postponement of our 2020 conference (which would have taken place on June 4 – 6, 2020), but the health and safety of everyone involved with The Women in Law Initiative and this project, in particular, are of paramount importance to us. Therefore, and to allow everyone involved with or interested in our project to adapt to the new situation, we decided to postpone our conference until next year.

The Second International Women in Law Conference will take place on September 9 – 11, 2021 in Vienna.

We are optimistic to be able to welcome all our national and international guests in Vienna in September 2021 and will, of course, keep you in the loop about the latest developments.

Justitia Awards 2020

In the meantime, our Justitia Awards Selection Committee will be busy evaluating all of the outstanding nominations for the Justitia Awards 2020. We are planning to host the Official Awards Ceremony in November 2020 in Vienna. The date will be announced as soon as possible.

We’ve received lots of interesting nominations for our Justitia Awards 2020 and are looking forward to consulting with you and the other members of our Justitia Awards Selection Committee to select the laureates. We are planning to host the Official Ceremony in November 2020 in Vienna. The date will be announced as soon as possible.

University of Vienna

Our Women in Law course at the University of Vienna School of Law is in full swing and we are confident to receive very relevant input from the next generation. Our students will be given the chance to publish their first scientific papers in an (online) journal to make their voices heard. There will also be a special segment honoring our three best students during our Justitia Awards Ceremony.
